What
is Prayerlinks?
Prayerlinks is a world-wide group of Intercessors who, in their kindness,
agree to pray for a group of people on a daily basis. In addition, they
give us here in Ireland names of those for whom they need prayers and
we in turn distribute these among the other Intercessors. Thus, a world-wide
torrent of prayer is arrowed upwards for all current intentions. Although
the majority of requested prayers are for those who are ill and seeking
healing, many are requested for comfort (after a bereavement or the
like). Christian names only are used to preserve anonymity.
How do I join?
Prayerlinks operates both on the Internet and by ordinary mail.
If you would like a prayer request put up on our Internet Prayer Site
please see the Home
Page for details. Should you wish to find out more
about our mail services, which are naturally open also to those without
Internetfacilities, please E-mail us at Prayerlinks
when we will gladly send you full details and an Enrolment Form.
PLEASE GIVE US YOUR POSTAL ADDRESS IN YOUR E-MAIL.
About us
We are Marianne and John Aldridge, living 5 miles (8 kilometres) from
Our
Lady's Shrine in Knock, Co. Mayo in the Irish Republic. Marianne
has been doing secretarial work and graphics with Western
Care Association, an organization which provides care, education
and training for adults and children with intellectual disabilities
in County Mayo. She designed Western
Care's first website and has been maintaining their new website. However,
she has just retired on Friday 5th October 2007, after nearly fourteen
wonderful years with Western Care - if you would like to see some of
the farewell "do", please feel free to click in here: Marianne's
Web Albums - you can also see Michelle and Mike's Wedding photos.
John is Resident Organist and Director of Liturgical Music at the Shrine
in Knock. They don't have an automatic retirement age at the Shrine,
so John will keep going as long as he can!!
We lived for much of our lives in Zimbabwe (the former Rhodesia) where
John was, from the mid-60's to the mid-70's, much involved in both Television
and Radio broadcasting. We have four children (Peter, Richard,
Michelle and
Susan - all adults now)
and four grandchildren - James (11), Ciara (9), Joshua (4) and
Amy Marie (11 months) and are Roman Catholics, although
Prayerlinks is very much non-denominational - many of our members
are of differing, although basically Christian, persuasions.
