Have you written or come across spiritual, emotional, religious words, lyrics or perhaps a poem to which you'd like a musical air and/or accompaniment? Perhaps you've lost a loved one and long for some song or similar to the memory of that person. Or you felt inspired one day and wrote words from your heart that cry out for musical enhancement.

The music in the background on this site was composed and performed by John Aldridge, who is Director of Sacred Music and Resident Organist at Our Lady's Shrine in Knock, County Mayo, Ireland. He would be delighted to receive submissions in this regard.

How does it work?

   An initial non-refundable fee of US$30.00 or Stg£20.00 is payable by Banker's Draft - we're not big enough (yet!) to have credit card facilities - to be sent to John Aldridge, Larganboy, Ballyhaunis, County Mayo, Ireland, together with your full name, postal and Email addresses and a contact telephone number.

   Email your lyrics to jaldridge@esatclear.ie in the meantime and/or forward them with your remittance. Please ensure that, as far as possible, the words scan into a regular metre conducive to creating music, e.g. "The boy stood on the burning deck". Some minor alterations by us to the lyrics may be necessary to fully achieve this.

   John will come up with some music to fit the first few lines of your submission and will record it as a MIDI file, playable on all computers with sound cards, sending the MIDI file to you as an Email attachment.

   If you are happy with the musical concept envisaged, confirm this by email and a quotation will follow for the completion of the song. If you are not happy or have suggestions for the music to be amended in some way, this will be done and further submitted to you, up to a maximum of three (3) submissions in all. Fees will vary, as some lyrics will be longer than others, but we would anticipate a total (including your initial payment) of somewhere between US$90.00 - $120.00 (Stg.£60.00 - £80.00).

   Should you wish to have sheet music, with the melody, chords and lyrics professionally written and sent to you, this will be arranged for a nominal additional fee.

   The copyright in the music will at all times remain vested in John Aldridge; likewise, we guarantee that your lyrics will not be used for any other purpose without your permission.
